Backing Carøe are Rasmus Bøgelund and his Jazz Pioneers – a band with jazz at its heart and tradition as its foundation. Their music draws on the great American jazz heritage, with clear references to the sound of Duke Ellington and the energy and drive of The Jazz Messengers.

The elegant and spacious arrangements are created by Rasmus’ brother, acclaimed arranger Nikolai Bøgelund. The interplay is vibrant, with groove and swing always at the heart of the music.
