Stig & Vennerne Akustisk are looking forward to visiting Alsik Hotel. The audience will have the opportunity to sing along to all of Flemming ‘Bamse’ Jørgensen’s greatest hits, performed with respect and love by the remaining members of Bamse’s Friends, Peter Bødker, Frank Thøgersen and Allan Nagel as well as Stig Rossen.
We get a string of the greatest hits from Bamses Venner’s back catalogue as well as a few lesser-known songs in acoustic versions.
The instrumentation is more stripped down than at the hall balls with Stig & Friends, which makes Flemming’s lyrics in particular stand out even more.
The little stories and anecdotes make you feel like you get to know Flemming ‘Bamse’ Jørgensen a little better.
The story behind Stig & Friends
In January 2011, immediately after Flemming’s sudden death, the band asked Stig if he wanted to join them for a concert at Syvstenhallen in Sæby. Bamse’s Friends had played at this hall for 32 years in a row, and the organiser wanted to mark the end of this era with a tribute concert to Bamse. Stig had his doubts. How would the many loyal fans of Bamse’s Friends receive this replacement? Was Flemming’s death too close to create a festive atmosphere? When Stig said yes, it was because he had listened to Flemming’s music for many years and thought that Bamses Venner was one of the best bands in Danish popular music. He saw the concert in Sæby as a chance to pay his respects to the late singer.
The concert was nothing short of magical. Stig and the band agreed that this would not be the first and only time, and Stig & Friends was formed.
Following a steady increase in interest and demand, the four decided in March 2016 to resume the concert format that was Flemming’s favourite during the last years of his life and career: the intimate acoustic concert with chatting and casual banter between songs.
For the concert with Stig & Friends, Jesper Koch has put together an exquisite 3-course concert menu with a focus on the best ingredients and culinary traditions. A carefully selected wine menu and beer and water during dinner are included in the ticket price.
Jesper Koch is the creative driving force behind the gastronomy at Alsik. He has created and spearheads the hotel’s dining experiences, including Restaurant Alsik, Freia Bar & Lounge and the award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant Syttende.
After a career that has taken him through an impressive list of restaurants both nationally and internationally, including several Michelin-starred venues, and after establishing several restaurants of his own, the talented chef from Southern Jutland has decided to return home. He wants to put Alsik and Sønderborg on the gastronomic map with his expertise and love of cooking.
