The popular duo - Sko / Torp
Sko/Torp was one of the absolute largest Danish orchestras of the 1990s – partly because the radios could not escape the orchestra’s smooth sound. They have found that good sound again after a long break.
What it’s all about for Sko/Torp is the organic and elaborate.
Søren Sko’s sense of melody and razor-sharp vocals as well as Palle Torp’s sense of balanced arrangements have led them on an on going tour at the country’s many venues.
– There are too few songs today where you can hear that it is live people playing. We want it to sound good and organic, says Søren Sko.
Back in the 1990s, that philosophy led the duo to the top. The single On A Long Lonely Night conquered Denmark via enormous support from the country’s local radio stations, the subsequent debut record of the same name went on to sell 200,000 copies, and the concerts were pure triumphs.
Three albums followed, before the duo parted in a calm, Jutlandish and shared understanding that the source of inspiration was dry.
And in the same place lies the reason why the two have joined forces again.
After eight years without contact, Søren Sko called Palle Torp to get some input for some new songs – and then one note quietly took over the other, and in 2005 they started playing concerts together with great success.
Since then, the duo has filled concert venues across the country with their always lively and atmospheric concerts.
